COSMIKNOTS
CosmiKnots is a network envisioned by Frog and KK to engage embodied entanglements with diverse techno-ecologies. As Asian-American artists traveling between diaspora, their use of text, visual, performance and healing modalities translates roots and borders. Frog’s art practice is informed by studies as a shamanic apprentice and KK’s developed from anthropology, media studies and movement research. As CosmiKnots, they explore biomaterial expressions of spiritual ecologies mediated in the post-digital.
(RE)VERB SEA2SKY (2020)
The internet is an interactive reality conjured through material networks of underwater cables and metaphoric connections in the cloud. In (RE)VERB SEA2SKY, we propose to animate the channels that make the internet imaginable and tangible, as elemental beings of and on the net interface that navigate diverse landscapes of techno-mediation through spiritual ecologies. (Visayas, Philippines & New York, USA)
Shortlisted for ZKM/Web Residencies: Muntu Maxims (curated by Violet Natume)
MEMORY ENCHANTMENT (2019)
Our embodied experiences have transformed from digital techno-ecologies. Thumb-scrolling & finger-thinking, whether as mobile phone or computer users, our bodies have adapted accordingly. While wires & wifi help us communicate across planet earth, how do we keep in touch with our own bodies?

TWISTED (2017)
Effects of the local on the global do not appear evidential from one’s own situated location, yet we are all enmeshed in cross-planetary paths of energy forces penetrating us simultaneously through space-time. This is to say that what happens on one side of the world does have effects on the other side, though not always computed in reel-time, except for bubbles of experience. Consumption of earthly resources for energy are currently channeled through cycles of extreme disparity, between ‘North’ and ‘South,’ urban and rural, colonized and corporatized, etc. How do we as working folk fathom the forms of industrialized intersections that bind us in labor divisions and resource inequity? Re-searching and rehearsing different situations happening entangled across the earth in simultaneous temporalities, Twisted conjures a ‘just’ stage for conceptualizing complex systems of embodied ex/change.

CALL-OUT B4 THE FALL-OUT: PUBLIC CEREMONIES OF THE CULT OF CONSUMPTION (2017)
A poetic-graphic performance text created out of excess digital material artifacts (cosmiknots.tumblr.com). For three nights, CosmiKnots gathered to worship around an altar of trash in a prayer to transcend the material real, yet were too distracted by the digital to perform ritual. The piece playfully & critically parodies capitalist consumption, performative aspects of contemporary spiritualism, and nihilistic tendencies of digital culture. By enacting a cult-like worship of material goods through performances as quasi-digital-shamanistic healers, we animate a mirror that breaks patterns of self-reflection.
From Nerve Performance Art Festival in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Performed with RAINLove & Rachel Johnson.
